Hi,

I'm trying to work on an imported iges file of an assembly built in Pro-E
into Ansys workbench. After I define the loads and Constraints, and begin
the solve command, after the solver goes nearly half way through, the
following error pops up: "An error occured inside the SOLVER module:
general error." Has anybody else faced the same error before? Does anybody
know why this error occurs? I tried to solve a simple part instead of the
assembly and it did work fine. Not sure what the problem could be, but I
believe the geometry of the assembly does not have any problems.
Please advice.

Thanks,
Shreedhar,

Look at the Worksheet Tab when you have the Solution branch highlighted for more information on the error.

Also, in your default AWE directory, you will find a file with the OUT extension (solve.out or simmilar, I cannot recall right now) that will contain most of the info available in the ANSYS Output window. You might find there the reason for that error.
