Hi All,
I have a set long input file that applies pressures to a model. I've
altered the model to where some of the element no longer exist. When I
read in the input files a get a ton of warning messages
*** WARNING *** SUPPRESSED MESSAGE CP = 40.703 TIME= 10:33:01
No defined or selected elements have pressure face with
NODES= 23572 23573 0 0. Specification not stored.
I'd like to unclutter my output and error files and not have these show
up anymore.
I used to be able to do this with
/NERR,,,-2
and I tried
/nerr,,,,,0
Any suggestions?

Oh BTW, I think this has been discussed recently, but the archive is
down. I got this upon my search.....
Lurker - failed to render page:
Cannot open database snapshot (Permission denied):
The configured database 'dbdir' in the config file could not
be opened. Typically this means that it is not readable by the user
which the cgi is invoked as. We suggest making dbdir and all files in it
readable by everyone since you are serving them on a website anyways.

Dan,
I usually just do a /nopr at the beginning and /gopr at the end of any input
file for which I don't care about the warning messages.

I have this as an undocumented feature:
/NERR,,,-1 - This command will allow you to ignore all error messages
Cant swear if it actually works. Maybe you can share if it does.

Dan,
Shocked that /nerr doesn't work.

Subject: [Xansys] Turning off useless error messages
Hi All,
I have a set long input file that applies pressures to a model. I've
altered the model to where some of the element no longer exist. When I
read in the input files a get a ton of warning messages
*** WARNING *** SUPPRESSED MESSAGE CP = 40.703 TIME= 10:33:01
No defined or selected elements have pressure face with
NODES= 23572 23573 0 0. Specification not stored.
I'd like to unclutter my output and error files and not have these show
up anymore.
I used to be able to do this with
/NERR,,,-2
and I tried
/nerr,,,,,0
Any suggestions?

This is one of those areas where I wish ANSYS would tag each warning
message type with a numeric value. Then, if they would create an APDL
command that allows you to specifically suppress\unsuppress a particular
warning message by its type id, you would get the best of both worlds.
You only end up suppressing the warnings you know are innocuous.
