Hello everyone,

I am trying to model elastic damage in a woven composite with the help of a USERMAT. I have written a subroutine with a single damage evolution law for all the material directions and wanted it to extend it to multiple damage evolution laws. I have started with an input file using a single shell element.

My problem is that the subroutine with the single damage evolution law is working fine but ANSYS keeps on solving with the extended subroutine. It shows a solving progress window with another window saying "Mechanical APDL Batch running with 2 cores requested" and it's status is 'not responding' in the task manager. Normally whenever there is a convergence problem, the calculation stops and it gets printed in the .out file. I cannot understand if there is anything wrong in my input file or the subroutine. I would be really grateful if someone can give me more info about it.

You would have a much higher chance of getting a reply if you posted to the mailing list at xansys-temp@xansystest.info. Very few of the experts are reading the Forum.
