Hi All,

I’m having some trouble with a meshing tool I’ve developed for wind turbine blades. It calculates node positions and element connectivity, but I keep having the same problem around the same area in the blade. I’ve applied a simple gravity load, and most of the blade deforms as expected then there is a sharp jump and the elements beyond that do not deform at all (despite having mass). Can anybody think of a reason why this could happen? If I increase the mesh size, the problem goes away. However, I need a refined mesh in this area. I do have some errors relating to element connectivity, but they are in a different part of the model.

Any help will be much appreciated!

Kind regards,

Peter Greaves
