Team,
I would like to get your view of Retrun On Inverstment (ROI) for simulation. With every year the costs increasing on simulation s/w, its important for organizations to assess the ROI. In principle everybody agrees that when used correctly simulation can give you many times returns that of investment. But many times there is less confidence on the simulated results and despite performing significant levels of virtual performance simulation, testing and hardware prototyping is observed.
To assess the current state of simulation RoI, has anyone of you/your organization tried to measure the ROI?
The inputs would be s/w license cost & labor cost and output can be many ranging on cost avoidance in testing to value of IP.
Does anyone have a framework or thoughts on how the ROI can be computed.
