I am modeling a composite plate with 4 layers by using exact solutions of orthotropic thin plate which is based on Kirchoff Plate Theory. I calculate natural frequencies in Matlab which requires dimensions of the plate,density, Elastic Modulus :EX,EY,GXY and Poissons ratio PXY. I want to validate the results I obtained with ANSYS. I used both SHELL 281 and SOLID 186 to validate.However, to complete Modal Analysis in ANSYS, I am required to enter EX,EY,EZ,PXY,PXZ,PYZ ,GXY,GXZ and GYZ. However I don't have the values for EZ,PXZ,PYZ,GXZ and GYZ.However, when I enter 0 for these entries ANSYS does not solve for it and gives an error message.Is there any way to calculate naturalent frequencies without entering values for EZ,GXY,GXZ,GYZ, PXZ AND PYZ?If there is no way ,what values can I enter for those entries?(e.g. is there any relation between those entries and the other parameters)
Currently,I use GXY=GXZ=GYZ and PXY=PXZ=PYZ and EY=EZ.The answers are close to the answers I obtained from Matlab.However,not sure if it is the correct way.
