I have a relatively large and complicated model for modal analysis. Below are the links which shows an isometric, partially zoomed and sectional view.
It includes couple of motors, channels, checker plates, I-beams etc and, as such, lots of contacts. Contact by nature is non-linear and contact stiffness is not constant depending on if the mating parts are pushing against each other or are separating. ANSYS will allow either bonding option (the mating parts are bonded in both direction or in the normal direction) which will not be realistic especially when you have so many contacts. In reality, conatct may not be even perfect.
Our experience indicates that bonded options seems to yield results significantl;y off from field measurement through impact test.
I was wondering what will be thr most realistic approach of addressing this problem? I will highly appreciate any help or suggestions.
