Hi ANSYS users,
I am using BEAM4 element to model my structure. I need shear force across its section. I am using following command to extract shear force:
esol, 11, e1, n1beam, f, y, n1-fy-beam
esol, 12, e1, n1beam, f, z, n1-fz-beam
However I am not sure if the results obtained are local-Y/Z forces or global.
I need local Y-Z forces to calculate resultant shear force at the end of beam.
Thanks for your advise.
Regards,

The ANSYS 11 help for ESOL says, "Element results are in the element coordinate system, except for layered elements where results are in the layer coordinate system." _________________ Luke McCaslin

I
Try use ETABLE with LS and SMISC items in beam4 help.
With these option, you will have different strese calcuated with loads in element coordinate system.
If you got other question don't hesitate to tell me.
See you soon _________________ alexandre meli
