Friends,
I'm trying to model a simple cantilever beam using Solid185 that has different E values in three directions. I define 9 required inputs in Linear Orthotropic materials Section but when I run the model applying the load in different directions each time (i.e. X and Y) it looks like ANSYS only used Ex no matter what the load direction is as I always get the same result-in other words, although I have defined orthotropic properties, ANSYS ignores them and only uses Ex. Why?
Thnaks,

You really ought to post the question to the mailing list at xansys-temp@xansystest.info where the experts are to be found. I take it that you have checked that ESYS for all elements is pointing in the correct direction? _________________ Martin Liddle, Tynemouth Computer Services,
